Background Information
Kilternan Hotel and Country Club is located in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, where golfers can enjoy spectacular views of the nearby Wicklow mountain range. This significant renovation project comprises the upgrade of the existing hotel and country club to a 4/5 star standard. The hotel will have 200 bedrooms, a new banquet hall, conference facilities, a spa and treatment centre and a fitness centre. There will also be an 18-hole golf course and a clubhouse.
Project objectives
Happold Safe & secure provided CCTV, access control, intruder detection and security communications, throughout the four main buildings, the two car parks, and the surrounding environments. All systems were fully integrated to maximise automation, reduce human intervention and mitigating human error. Controls are duplicated in three strategically located security offices. Access cards provide identity and audit trails for staff, whilst simplifying the guests’ experience of the hotel and its many facilities.
Key successes
Providing a site wide security solution that is 'minimalist and looks nice'. Physical and electronic security solutions were designed and selected to be unobtrusive and discreet, as well as blending in with the hotel’s contemporary styling.
