Background Information
The new Port of Weston will stand at the gateway to Halton (Runcorn and Widnes) on the old site of Weston Dock. The port will provide a unique inter-modal transport facility for the North West enabling road, rail, inland waterways and deep sea links nationally and internationally.
Project objectives
Happold Safe & Secure designed a total security package including physical protection and technology solutions to comply with the requirements of the International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) Code.
Key successes
The production of a security masterplan having gathered all requirements of the ISPS code, special branch, customs and excise, TRANSEC and local police. HS&S acted as a focal point for security activities during this process culminating in a plan which was approved by all.
